⚡ Introducing PTSI Electrical College
PTSI Electrical College is a 14-day immersive, in-person training program designed to prepare participants for a rewarding career in the electrical trade. Whether you are just starting out or considering a career change, this program offers hands-on training, industry-focused preparation, and a pathway to pursue an electrical apprenticeship.
This is not simply a two-week course. The complete AMP pathway includes:
⚡ 60 hours of prerequisite online training
⚡ 130 hours of full-time, hands-on in-person training
⚡ Up to 120 hours of post-training coursework
That is up to 310 hours of training and preparation. The 14 days refer to the in-person portion—not the entire program.
A few important things to know:
⚡ No prior electrical experience is required.
⚡ There is no tuition cost for selected participants.
⚡ Completing PTSI does not guarantee apprenticeship placement. Local Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committees make those decisions independently.
⚡ PTSI is designed to help participants build skills and demonstrate readiness for that next step.
Applicants must be Texas residents, at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and authorization to work in the United States. In-person training is full-time and may include site-specific drug screening or background-check requirements.
