❤️ What is WIOA—and how can it help you ❤️
You may have heard about WIOA in connection with CDL training or help with bills. But WIOA is an employment and training program with a bigger goal: helping eligible individuals build skills, overcome employment barriers, and work toward lasting career stability.
WIOA stands for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. It is federally funded and designed to help people gain the education, skills, and credentials needed to obtain or retain employment and earn wages that support themselves and their families.
❤️ What WIOA may offer ❤️
• Career guidance and planning
• Job search and work-readiness assistance
• Occupational training for high-demand careers
• Certain supportive services needed to participate in approved employment or training activities
🚛 WIOA is not a CDL school. CDL training may be one option for eligible participants when it fits their employment plan and meets program requirements. WIOA serves a variety of career paths.
🏠 WIOA is not an emergency bill-paying service. Certain supportive services may help eligible participants overcome barriers to participating in employment or training activities. Assistance must meet program requirements and is not automatic.
❤️ How does it work ❤️
Eligibility is established first. Participants then work with a Career Coach to assess their needs, identify employment goals, and develop an Individualized Employment Plan.
Services—including training assistance—are determined by individual assessments, program requirements, and available funding. Being eligible does not guarantee payment for a particular school, training program, or bill.
🌟 The goal is meaningful employment, greater financial independence, and long-term career stability.
